Our Story

Originally from the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago, Pastors Russell and Ruth Morrison have served in several positions throughout their journey as Christians which dates back to the 1970s.

Whether as prayer meeting hosts, Sunday School leaders, Outreach Ministers, Deacons, or Board of Trustees members they've always had a willing heart to fill any need in the Church.

After relocating to the United States in the early 90s, their passion to serve continued and allowed them to partner with several NYC Ministries, helping with teaching adult Sunday and Vacation Bible School classes, serving as Ministerial Consultants, and working in Evangelism Outreach.

In 2003, Pastor Morrison and his wife attended a retreat in Blue Mountain, Pennsylvania. There, they heard the call of God to full time ministry.

Thank you for visiting Staten Island Deliverance Temple where we believe Jesus is Lord! We're a non denominational congregation that stands on God's Word and not affiliations. It is our heart to touch as many lives as possible, both spiritually and physically. After all, that is what Christ did. He transformed the world by showing great care and concern for souls, meeting them at the point of their needs. He wasn't moved by fancy teachings or stopped by socioeconomic titles. All He wanted to do was His Father's will, and so do we. As a community focused church we look forward to worshipping and serving with you and your loved ones.

To impact our community with the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

To spread the love of Jesus Christ in Word, and in deed.

To equip every believer with the sword of the Spirit.

To offer hope to the hopeless and a haven to the hurting.

By joining one of our small groups you'll be able to take your relationship with Christ even deeper. Small groups foster intimate, focused communities and are specifically designed to help you grow in every stage of your personal and spiritual life.

We were created by God for worship and community. That's why Ecclesiastes 4:9 tells us "two are better than one..." Whether in person or online we'd love  to have you join our community.  Here's how you can get connected today!
